Happy Friday! Just a reminder that next week is a short three-day school week (Monday-Wednesday only).

Important Dates

Oct. 15 - Teacher Work Day/4th Grade Virtual Conferences (No School for Students)

Oct. 16 - Fall Break (No School)

Oct. 22 - Vision & Hearing Screening

Oct. 28 - Picture Retakes

Oct. 29 - PTA Sponsored Wheels on Fire Pizza Food Truck

Conferences

On Thursday, we will be holding 4th grade conferences during the day. We will be sending out a Sign Up Genius on Monday, along with directions for how to access your child’s ePortfolio. Please plan a time between Monday evening and the conference on Thursday to go over your child’s portfolio with them. Thursday is a teacher work day, so students will not attend school. However, they will be leading their conference on Zoom, so please sign up for a time when both you and your child will be available to meet. If you are not able to join us on Thursday, please review the ePortfolio with your child during the week and send me your questions via email. I will be happy to get back to you with a response.

Other News

Pictures and last week’s spelling test went home today. If you did not order pictures, Van Gogh has sent home a complimentary calendar (with order information on ordervgco.com). Click on After Picture Day and enter your child’s ticket code which can be found in the lower left corner of their individual calendar. Spelling tests for week 2 (suffix) were checked, but grades were not recorded. Please use it to help study for future spelling tests. The test students took today (week 3 “script/scribe”), will be graded and recorded, as will all other spelling tests moving forward.

Thanks for all your help at home. Stay healthy and have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Vallory Darting, M. Ed.
